El presente lineamiento es provisional y de aplicaci\u00f3n obligatoria para las instancias del Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica y dem\u00e1s sectores que intervengan en la prevenci\u00f3n y control de las enfermedades trasmitidas por vectores, mientras dure el Estado de Emergencia Sanitaria decretado por la pandemia de COVID19.<\/span><\/div>\n

La enfermedad de Chagas ha representado durante varios a\u00f1os un problema de salud p\u00fablica, afectando principalmente a poblaciones de bajos recursos y de dif\u00edcil acceso a los servicios de salud p\u00fablica. Con el fin de eliminar la transmisi\u00f3n por vectores al\u00f3ctonos en el Ecuador, es importante ampliar el conocimiento de la situaci\u00f3n epidemiol\u00f3gica y la distribuci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica de los vectores aportando con informaci\u00f3n para la toma de decisiones de las autoridades de Salud.<\/span><\/div>\n

En la actualidad no existe un tratamiento espec\u00edfico o vacunas disponibles contra el zika, dengue y chikungu\u00f1a, siendo las actividades de control vectorial las principales estrategias disponibles para prevenir y reducir el impacto de enfermedades(14).<\/span><\/div>\n

En el Ecuador, el abordaje de las enfermedades vectoriales ha sido una prioridad para el Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica, y la generaci\u00f3n de herramientas para fortalecer el sistema de vigilancia y control de vectores constituye un eje fundamental que permite viabilizar las acciones para garantizar un servicio de calidad a poblaciones en riesgo de contraer estas enfermedades. <\/span><\/div>\n
